So, for the big question, how much will your job cost?
To be honest, pricing and quoting in the building and construction industry is generally very tedious and time consuming. Also, there are often surprises after the job is begun, and many reasons why plans may have to change during a project, making it difficult to forecast, and therefore, difficult to quote accurately. Many builders and carpenters spend countless hours working out and sending off quote after quote for nothing. It is not uncommon to send off over a dozen quotes for every job won.
For these reasons, we have chosen not to give out free quotes. Instead, if you approach us about doing a job for you, we will happily come for a look and a chat; then we can figure out a rough estimate for you for free. This will be a good indication for you, whether you're looking at paying hundreds, thousands, or tens of thousands of dollars for your projects. If you still want a fixed price, we can supply a firm quote for you for a small fee (please see below for costs). Otherwise, if you are happy to go ahead without the fixed price, we will come to an agreement on payment stages, and you will be charged at our 'Charge-up' rate (please see below for costs).
So, which should you choose? Well, if the job flows smoothly, and there are no surprises, going with the 'Charge-up' rate will always be cheaper, since we have to allow for the unexpected in fixed price quoting. If, however, you prefer the security of a fixed price, then paying for a quote may be the best option for you.
Costs
Fee for a fixed price quote will be $75 or 2% of estimated figure, whichever is greater.
Charge-up rate is $60/hour for labour, plus $3.75 for every 10 minutes travel time if you live outside Rockhampton, plus council fees, materials, delivery costs, sub-contractor fees, waste disposal fees and any other fees incurred - all charged at cost +15%, plus any home warranty insurance costs which we are obligated to pass on.
